Google will fire its unvaccinated employees!

Hotly spoken all over the world, 'Should the vaccine be compulsory?' Now, Google's decision is added to the discussions.

The last 2 years have been very difficult all over the world. While the quarantine process came to a halt in production all over the world, the world breathed a little sigh of relief with the spread of the vaccine.

With COVID-19 and its variants starting to feel again, the debates that were shelved a while ago have also resurfaced. The latest information is that Google, one of the world's largest technology giants, will terminate its employees who refuse to be vaccinated.

Google restarts vaccine discussions

An internal memo obtained by CNBC shows that Goole is preparing to fire employees who do not comply with the company's vaccination policies.

The management level of Google stated that the personnel must upload the document proving their vaccination status to the system, and if they do not do this, they will be given unpaid leave for a while. If employees insist on not being vaccinated during this leave, their employment will be terminated.

As you know, Google has repeatedly delayed its decision to return employees to the office for a while. Especially with the increasing impact of COVID-19 variants, the issue of when employees will return to the office has again become uncertain. However, a Google official reached by the BBC did not deny the internal correspondence seized by CNBC and stated that they would do everything to protect the health of the employees.

Here's the Google manager's statement:

“As we mentioned earlier, our vaccine requirements are one of the safest ways to keep our workforce safe and ensure the continuity of our services. We are committed to doing everything we can to assist our employees who may be vaccinated, and we will continue to stand behind our vaccination policies.”

-Google

According to information provided by CNBC, Google was required to report why they were not vaccinated, on religious or medical grounds, by December 3, at the latest, in a message it sent last month. In this sense, it is a matter of curiosity for now what kind of action has been taken regarding the employees who have not reported a reason for about 2 weeks.
